has been based in San Marcos, CA since 1999. As head trainer at Savoir Faire Stables, she offers a versatile program based on the classical principles of dressage. Sandy began her professional career in dressage after earning her Bachelors degree in Business administration, with an emphasis in International Business, at the University of San Diego. After graduating, she began working for Mr. and Mrs. Harry Polonitza training young horses at Seabreeze Farms in Del Mar California. It was at Seabreeze Farms that Sandy met her teacher and mentor, Mr. Dietrich von Hopffgarten. He invited her to Redmond, Washington where she worked training a variety of horses under his guidance. After more than two years Mr. Von Hopffgarten recommended Sandy to Mr. Johann Hinnemann in Voerde, Germany. While in Germany Sandy rode Mr. Hinnemann's horses and trained client’s horses. She was invited by Ms. Heike Kemmer to the Amsel Hof Walle facility to train some of the Kemmer horses and stallions. Sandy was previously trained by three-time Olympian Guenter Seidel, and Morten Thompsen. Currently, Sandy is trained by Johann Hinnemann and participates in clinics with Donna Richardson.
